Stroke of Midnight

I wanted to try a shimmery ink, so I picked Stroke of Midnight since it should still be pretty legible for writing. I have it in a thin-nib fountain pen, and I’m not getting a lot of shimmer (although the blue color is still quite nice.) The effect probably works best in a medium to thick nib pen!

I was looking for a more everyday ink a black or dark blue that I could use at work. Stroke of Midnight is absolutely the one a lovely deep rich blue with a slight deep red undertone shot through with a subtle sheen it’s conservative enough for me to be able to use it in my everyday life but with a hint of sparkle that makes me smile.

This ink is truly stunning. I've written a full page, A5, and the chameleon shift of blue and black coupled with the way the silver shimmer ebbs and flows throughout make this ink a fascinating addition to my collection. I'm using it in a Waterman Carene with Fine nib; it would be more spectacular with a Medium nib or used with a brush for art. It reminds me of looking at the darkest of night reflected in a clear pond, the breeze lightly shifting the water to add silver ripples.

Seriously. I'm in love with this ink and absolutely gutted that Ferris Wheel are discontinuing it. I wish I had discovered it sooner; trying to eke out my singular bottle to make it last is going to be difficult, I want to use it so much! Please, Ferris Wheel, don't leave this ink in the vault forever!

I was looking for a darker ink, and this was perfect, the colour was strong, and the packaging was lovely as usual.
